Kavita Rani

Dr. Kavita is serving as an Associate Professor and Dean at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda. She has 20 years of teaching experience and has contributed significantly to the field of teacher education and educational technology. She has published six books (including four textbooks and two edited volumes) and numerous research papers in reputed journals and conference proceedings. She has also developed a wide range of E-contents to benefit students and future teachers. Her academic interests and passion lie in happiness psychology, the integration of technology in education, and equipping future teachers with innovative educational tools so that they can contribute more effectively to society. She has been selected as a mentor by NCTE for the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) School Teachers, further reflecting her commitment to professional growth and teacher empowerment. She is also a Coordinator of the MMTTC Program at Guru Kashi University. Her active involvement with professional bodies includes membership in the State Regional Sub-Executive Committee of the Council for Teacher Education (CTE), Indian Association of Teacher Education (IATE), and All India Association for Educational Research (AIAER). Her dedication to advancing open and online education is evident through her work with UNESCO’s OE4BW (Open Education for a Better World) program. She has developed five MOOCs under this initiative and has also mentored two MOOCs, showcasing her global commitment to quality education and accessible learning. Beyond academics and research, she frequently delivers motivational talks for teachers, parents, and students in various institutions.
In her personal life, she finds joy in gardening, a passion that also inspired one of her MOOCs on the Basics of Gardening for Sustainable Health and Society, which was highly appreciated by the UNESCO OE4BW team.
