Open education needs infrastructures - platforms, tools, governance models or communities - in order to enable participation.
Taking on these aspects together with the OER community is a central goal of the Hackathoern project, which benefits from the knowledge and exchange of the OER community in Germany. Its aim is to improve OER infrastructures by building on and expanding existing strengths, to identify shared challenges and to co-develop ideas.
The project is part of the Open Educational Resources (OER) strategy of the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ).
In this session we will give an overview of the project followed by a discussion on how infrastructures support, shape or might hinder open education as well as the use and distribution of OER. We invite everyone to be part of our Innovation-Lab: Let’s exchange ideas, perspectives and best practices on how to improve OER infrastructures and shape the future of open education!
We’ll explore questions such as:
Which infrastructures enable openness in your context?
Where do barriers appear — and how are they addressed?
What can we learn from each other’s approaches?
Bring your experiences and curiosity — and leave with new perspectives, ideas, and connections.
