OER-Infrastructure from Germany: how to share OER and train AI at wirlernenonline.de
26.11.2025, 12:00–12:45 o'clock (Europe/Berlin), Purple Room

In this session, we will give you an insight into Germany’s OER infrastructure using the example of wirlernenonline.de—a platform and search engine for open educational resources (OER) that provides access to more than 300,000 free learning materials. The platform is built on the open-source software edu-sharing, which includes an editorial environment where communities can add, organize, enrich with metadata, publish, and distribute OER with support from AI. As part of an ongoing research project, the system is being expanded to transform OER into machine-readable datasets that can be used to train AI systems and develop reliable educational chatbots.
